Soothing Nursery Palette

When a dear friend asked me to help her design a nursery palette for her baby shower gift, I jumped at the idea. While my babies are almost as tall as I am now, I have several friends who are preparing to welcome new little ones into their families, and my creative juices are positively sizzling for them.

I mean, babies are great, but an excuse to redecorate a room in your house? Even better! (Just kidding, kids. I love you, not just your cute rooms.)Soothing nursery palette with soft greens, yellow, and gray

The soft greens, gray, and yellow of this palette make me really happy, and I know this is a room I'd enjoy spending time in, even if it's to change a diaper.

Defnitely soothing. Yellow and gray you feature look really close to what I have on some of the walls in my house, and I've been thinking about adding some green into the mix when I do some more painting, so now I have some extra inspiration.

Thanks Jeri! I think that green is a natural compliment to gray and green.

If I may add a 'dissenting opinion', let me note that some people find the absence of stimulus unsettling and not soothing at all (yep, I'm like that) - IMO you could brighten your palette a bit without sacrificing its soothing qualities.

You're probably not alone in feeling that way Andy! I'll make the next one a little more "interesting" for all the thrill seekers out there.

Thank you so much. I guess I should know what brand of paint. We are about to remodel our shared toddler/nursery.

Hi Sandra, those are the computer hex codes for those colors. They don't correspond exactly to any particular brand of paint. I like Valspar or Sherwin Williams, and you should be able to find similar colors by looking at their paint chips in the store.
