It's halfway through December, and a sunny 55 degrees here in Albuquerque, with nary a snowflake in sight. Now mind you, I'm not complaining, but my kids are. They're holding out hope for a white Christmas, and they wouldn't mind a few snow days off school between now and then. I guess anything could happen, but I'm not waiting till that day comes to start making hot cocoa!
In the meantime, I put together this cool palette in their honor, and in hopes that maybe actual snow will follow someday...
If that doesn't make you say "Brrrr!" I don't know what will. I'm happy to be sitting in my office with the sun streaming in the window, rather than traipsing through the snowy back country, but I must admit it makes for a beautiful photo and color combination. The off-white and green are surprisingly warm against the blues, which really captures the warmth of the sun that's just kissing the frosty white tips of the trees.
I'd love to see this view out the panoramic window of my cabin, while sitting next to my wood-burning stove and sipping on something hot. I might actually tear my eyes from my book long enough to appreciate the scenery. Alas, the cabin and view only exist in my mind for now. Maybe someday I'll have a cabin, but in the meantime I'll just have to make do with pretty pictures and colorful valley palettes!
Since I probably won't post next week, let me take this moment to say... Merry Christmas everyone! May the snow (or sun) find you warm and cozy in your home, surrounded by the ones you love.

Ooh...can I come visit you in your cabin? That sounds like a good goal for the future.
Meredith says
Yes you can! Gotta have goals...

That is a beautiful snowy scene I agree. And around the holidays I do get a bit sentimental and wish for a snowy christmas like when I was young. But that only lasts for a couple days. 🙂 great spa bathroom looking colors.

Two quick points:
(1) As you might guess from my tastes in ice cream, mint cocoa is one of my favorite wintertime drinks. 🙂
(2) There's actually an official color named "snow".
Merry Christmas!
