Fresh Citrus Palette

Today was the last day of school for my kids, which means it's now officially summer!

To celebrate surviving another school year, as well as to procrastinate on making plans for a productive and healthy summer, I thought I'd share this summery palette with you. This summery palette blends lively orange hues with a grounded green.

Doesn't this photo make you want to go out in your backyard and pluck a ripe, juicy orange off your tree? Well, me too, but I have no orange trees. I have a half-dead cypress, but that's another story. Guess I'll swing by the farmer's market and pick up my oranges that way instead.

While I wouldn't recommend wrapping a room in these bright hues, I'd love to use them on a piece of art or a quirky piece of furniture to make a bold statement. What will you do with your color inspiration?

Here's to a bright and happy summer, filled with plenty of Vitamin C and D!

This is a very inviting color selection. This selection of Citrus definitely reminds me of summer. I think these colors would be nice accents in a bathroom.

Thank you Carole! I agree with you about the accents in the bathroom. It would be nice to wake up to some sunny color in the morning while you're getting ready.

Think late 70's...then you'll picture that I painted an entire wall in my fa milky room with that orange:) It was good for that time....think I changed it a few years later, though. Refreshing palette!

That is indeed bright. Reminds of the colors my sister just used to paint our parents' kitchen.

I think if you could get away with these colors anywhere, it would be the kitchen. Something about the citrus...

Hi Meredith, I agree with you , a whole room would be to much. Would be s little Like The Brady Bunch home in the 1970s. smaller bursts of color, especially the orange, would be pretty.
