Engineering Meets Art Part 2 - Behind the Scenes

You may remember a few months ago I shared an intriguing project with you, where engineering meets art. I'm back today to bring you a new piece they've been working on. I think I like this one even better than the first one, and I was so impressed with how the art is made that I wanted to show you a behind the scenes look.Behind-the-Scenes-Lennox-Art-Project

When I see commercials like this one, I always assume that all the artwork is done by computer.

There's nothing wrong with computer graphics of course, but since I'm more of a hands-on type of artist, I was especially interested to learn about the artists who dreamed up this adorable robot and brought him to life.

Meet Fluke and Zek, graffiti artists turned production studio. They turned an idea of how to illustrate "What Perfect Feels Like" into a personal experience.

Here's a little glimpse into how they did it.

I love that Lennox is using artists to convey their concepts that might otherwise be a bit dry and boring. I mean, we all need our air conditioner and heater, but who wants to spend time thinking about their HVAC system? Would you rather read a few paragraphs describing all the wonderful features of their iComfort S30 system, or watch a video of how it actually makes your home feel perfect?

Well, in case you wanted the first option, here it is:

The Lennox iComfort® S30 thermostat can sense changes in your environment—it even knows when you come and go and adjusts accordingly. So now your home’s most important system is also the smartest. The new iComfort® S30 fills your home with perfect. It knows you and adapts to your schedule and environment. It makes sure your home always feels just the way you want it.

Humidity can affect the temperature in your home, but the iComfort® S30 takes that into account, so when you set it at 72 degrees, it feels like 72 degrees. The air we breathe has a dramatic effect on our comfort.

Take allergies-they’re a real problem for many people. Which is why the iComfort® S30 is so impressive. It knows your surrounding environment and works with the Lennox system to filter out allergens and pollutants-things that can wreak havoc on our health. There really is nothing like it. The iComfort® S30 is really an advanced piece of machinery. It adapts to your life no matter how unpredictable it is.

When you’re away, it saves you money by conserving energy. But it also senses when you’re coming home. So no matter how far away you are, your home is always perfect when you get back.

But in the more likely case that you prefer the second option, here are a few more pictures of how this adorable robot came to life through the artists' hands:

While this is my last post in this Engineering Meets Art series, Lennox plans to continue working with artists to help them convey "What Perfect Feels Like" so keep an eye out for more of their creative collaborations!Sponsored Post Disclaimer2
