When Engineering Meets Art in the Home, Part 1

I love a good art project! So when Lennox asked me to showcase their new "What Perfect Feels Like" campaign, I was intrigued. When I saw the art, I was hooked. (This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.)Engineering Meets Art: What Perfect Feels Like #LennoxArtProject

You know that there are parts of your home that just don't get enough attention, although they've become a pivotal part of your life. Can I get an "amen" from anybody who's ever had to snake a drain, plunge a toilet, or sweat through a weekend while waiting for the air conditioner repairman to come on Monday?

Well your HVAC system is definitely one of these.

Whether you live in the desert like me, and would not survive a summer without an air conditioner, or you live in upstate New York, and depend on your heater to literally save your life in the winter, your HVAC system deserves a little thought. But, come on, it's just downright boring talking about air conditioning! How can we make it interesting? How about some art?

Closup_of_printad_dragon

Now that's cool. (Pun intended.) They could spend all day talking about how quiet their Ultimate Comfort System is, or they could just show you how it affects this poor, sleepy dragon. But here's the best part - watch it magically come to life:

Lennox makes the quietest system you can find. So even though it's the most powerful force in your home, it won't sound like it is.

Sometimes you can view a piece of art, and not really appreciate it, until you see what went into making it. Check out this video about the making of the dragon.

Dragon in Progress

Dragon in Progress 2The Dragon is the creation of an artist-run production company called A'Shop, who specialize in graffiti and street-style art.

I love it when a brand like Lennox, who is known for their engineering and product design turns to art to help communicate their ideas. As a an artist, I get a kick out of seeing the two supposedly different worlds coming together to communicate a concept. And I love that Lennox plans to make art a big part of their campaigns for years to come. I may never have given much thought to my home's HVAC system before, but you can bet I will now!

And don't forget to check back in June for another of these awesome art projects!

I can't help but be impressed with how successful Lennox was in getting their message across in this campaign. The art is so powerful in conveying "how perfect feels" in a visual way. A great collaboration between technology and art!

Art does indeed make practical things like HVAC systems so much better 🙂 I also like how the utility boxes that dot the streets in many cities are often painted in artistic ways.

I love that the heads of the art company started as graffiti artists in the 90s and now they are part of a corporate commercial. Those are two distinctive worlds coming together in a very cool way.
