More Peace in my Home with Onelink Safe & Sound

Thank you First Alert OneLink for sponsoring this post. Onelink Safe & Sound - Meet Your Family’s New Best Friend. #ONELINKSTORY

I'm always looking for ways to make my home more peaceful, secure, and beautiful, and I just found a new way with Onelink Safe & Sound! We recently installed one in our house, and the whole family loves it, all for different reasons.

Onelink Safe & Sound

My new Safe & Sound gives me peace of mind with its intelligent smoke & carbon monoxide alarm with remote notifications. If something were to happen, even while I'm not at home, it would notify me on my phone. That's in addition to an audible alarm that not only beeps from the unit, but also voices what the problem is. I hate to even think of it happening, but if the smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm went off in the middle of the night and dragged us all out of a deep sleep, we'd be able to quickly make sense of what to do with our Safe & Sound telling us what and where the problem is occurring.

The Safe & Sound is also Alexa-enabled, so we can talk to it too. My kids are in love with Alexa. They love being able to request music, ask the weather, and come up with all sorts of other challenges for her. The first night we installed the Safe & Sound, Alexa read them a bedtime story!

We decided to install our Safe & Sound in the bedroom hallway (it needs to be wired into the home's electricity) not only for safety reasons, but because it's also right outside the doorway to my office. I love to play my music on it because its premium home speaker is much better than my computer speakers. It uses the backdrop of the ceiling like an amplifier and puts out some really impressive sound.

I'm impressed that they could fit all this safety, convenience, and fun into one small smoke-alarm sized package, and that's exactly what makes it perfect for our home and lifestyle.

Onelink Safe & Sound Easy Installation

Let me show you how easy it was to install our Onelink Safe & Sound.

You'll need an outlet wired to the home's electricity. We used an old outlet from a previously wired alarm. I took the existing alarm off and pulled out the wiring inside the outlet box to inspect it. My old plug wasn't the right kind for this unit, so a little rewiring was needed.

The unit comes with three different types of adapters. We selected the one we needed, according the the instruction manual, and my hubby attached it in less than two minutes. (Be sure to use proper safety measures when you're working with electrical wires, or call in a professional!)

Then I simply attached the base to the outlet. (Screws are provided, but mine fit right onto where the old screws were. Score!)

I plugged in the Safe & Sound to the adapter plug. It immediately lit up and prompted me to finish setup through the phone app.

Then I slid the unit onto the base and turned until it was secure. (If it's not securely attached, the unit will chirp like a smoke alarm with a dead battery.)

That's it, easy peasy! Then the fun part was downloading the Onelink Safe & Sound app to my phone, along with Alexa. We were up and running literally in a matter of minutes. Now I just need to start learning how to use Alexa, so my kids aren't the only ones having all the fun!

I love the idea that it is linked to Alexa and you can play music out of it!
